RoofLITE+ FRF – the window of the future
The RoofLITE+ FRF flat roof window represents innovation at the highest level for the company, with their budget-friendly product standing out from the crowd
One thing RoofLITE+ have always been, as a company, is consistent in their delivery of products, which always give you value for your money.
Their fixed flat roof range is no different, with the FRF in particular showcasing the very latest in technological advancement for the company.
But what makes it stand out and how does it compare to other fixed flat roof windows in the market? We take an in-depth look for you here.
For those who are perhaps unaware, RoofLITE+ are a sister brand to VELUX and the two share very common materials, with RoofLITE+ products even being manufactured in the same factory as VELUX.
RoofLITE+ products have been made from very durable and insulated PVC and also comes with all the installation accessories that you need. When compared against their sister brand they outperform or match against key deliverables, meaning that you can get a product very similar to a VELUX, but for less.
As an example, when it comes to U-value, (which is used to determine the thermal efficacy of a window, where a lower score is better – you can read more here) – the U-value of the VELUX CFP is 1.2. By contrast, the U-value of the FRF is 0.87.
For context, the average U-value for a triple glazed window is 1 W/m2K, so this highlights at how good economically both windows are, but with the FRF, you are effectively getting a triple glazed window in the guise of a double glazed one.
RoofLITE+ have designed their FRF with simplicity in mind, a design that is easy to maintain whist not compromising on performance.
The external glazing of the FRF features a special self-cleaning coating, which – as the name suggests – keeps that part clean and tidy, meaning you don’t to take time out regularly to make sure it’s spick and span.
In addition, the FRF is also compatible with io-Homecontrol, which is RoofLITE+’s smart home technology.
When it comes to budget value, RoofLITE+ certainly lead the way compared to some of their counterparts – and quite notably, too.
For example, the new VELUX CFU range (60cm x 60cm) starts at £563 before VAT, while the same sized window as a RoofLITE+ FRF is £395 before VAT. In fact, the RoofLITE FRF 100cm x 100cm is just £20 more expensive pre-VAT than the VELUX 60cm x 60cm CFU.
So, for very little difference, you can get a lot more window for basically the same price. When you consider that the windows are very similar in levels of performance as well, going down the RoofLITE+ route is a very sensible decision.
Also, in terms of the light benefits, RoofLITE+ have ensured with the FRF that it will bring more light into your house than a normal window, purely because of the way the frame has been constructed.
Much like the VELUX range, the FRF can be installed in any roof with a pitch ranging from five to 15 degrees, while it also comes with the RoofLITE+ FGTB200 Flat Glass Cover and a 10-year guarantee.
It’s no secret that people do feel comfortable sticking to well-known brands, but in this instance, you can get an almost identical package for £200 less – so it’s well worth thinking about.
