Kitchen reconfiguration - Kent
Project type: Kitchen reconfiguration
House type: Detached
Location: Nonnington, Kent
Time taken: 8 weeks
Approx cost: £45,000
Built by: Aesir Construction
Daylight: VELUX INTEGRA GGU Electric white PU centre pivot, bifold doors
What was done?
The client originally had a separate dining room and kitchen with limited space, wanting a more open plan feel they decided to
breathe fresh life into the home.
While on the surface this may have seemed a straightforward renovation, a
lot had to be done. From structural alterations and a full rewire, additional glazing was added to maximise daylight with two new windows and a bifold door.
Finally, a brand-new kitchen unit was fitted, making the space completely unrecognisable from the previous living space.
How have the changes improved the home?
Going from a small kitchen and separate dining room that felt lifeless, to a modern
spacious kitchen, has massively improved the quality of living in the home.
With a set space for a dining table that doesn’t feel cramped and with heated floors, the kitchen has a cosy feel to it.
The additional windows and bifold doors mean the natural light constantly beams through into the new space.
What daylight was added?
To complement the existing French doors at the back of the kitchen, they installed a pair of bifold doors at the front. This has successfully opened up the usable space whilst allowing daylight through.
The
addition of two electric
VELUX INTEGRA pitched roof windows
were a key part of the reconfiguration and have worked wonders in the new space.
Coming with the special noise-reducing glazing, the VELUX INTEGRA pitched roof windows
that were used block out the sound of up to 35db, making the kitchen a peaceful area.
