What was done?
Like many now, the owner was weighing up whether to move or to put that money towards an extension for their existing home, adding value to it in the process.
In the end, the owner chose to stay
An interior wall was taken down to make the extension a bigger space, the roof was taken off and re-done to accomodate the glass and the external finish went from a brick finish of two different types to a clean,
In addition, the previous French doors were taken out and replaced with some five-panel bifold doors, a feature canopy was fitted onto the roof with spotlights and two Korniche lanterns were also installed within the extension.
How have the changes improved the home?
The home is completely transformed thanks to the extension, completely refreshing and modernising the space.
Not only does the owner have
In addition, the Korniche lanterns and bifold doors have enabled the extension to be bathed in natural light, all year round, permanently giving the extension a feeling of airiness and light during the day.
What daylight was added?
The daylight options that the owner went for were two Korniche lanterns, in addition to a set of Prime Glazing bifold doors, which replaced the existing set up.
One Korniche lantern on its own is a striking feature and brings in a lot of natural light, but by having a twin, the extension space always feels lit up during the day, while making the house look striking from the outside.
As for the Prime Glazing doors, they represent a huge upgrade on what was there previously and thanks to its five-panel nature, can either be opened as just a single door, or opened the whole way across.
