Sun Tunnels

Sun Tunnels - Bringing daylight into areas where windows cannot be used. 

Sun tunnels are an effective way of adding natural daylight into windowless rooms and areas of the home which would otherwise rely solely on electricity. Commonly referred to as sun tubes and sun pipes, sun tunnels are installed into the roof of a building to transfer sunlight down through the attached reflective tube and through the glass diffuser installed in the ceiling of a room.

Sun tunnels come in two main designs- flexible and rigid tubes. Flexible sun tunnels allow greater tube manoeuvrability whereas rigid tunnels offer a more direct passage and ultimately a brighter end result.To maximise the amount of light achieved through a sun tunnel please consider the following.  Positioning of the sun tunnel in a South facing orientation will enhance the amount of natural daylight through the reflective tubes. Our Most Popular Sun Tunnels - The VEW 14" sun tunnel has it all, with a 3m flexible tube tube which can handle most installations and is availabe with either a slate or tile flashing kit. This product also come with a free light kit which reduces the need to add another hole in the ceiling to accommodate a light fitting. This product is suitable for room sizes form 4-10m2. 

VELUX offer two sizes of sun tunnels a 10" and 14" in a choice of flexible or rigid tubes both of which are designed for home installations.
