Sterlingbuild flexible sun tunnels
Enjoy up to 20 times more light
Sterlingbuild sun tunnels are a highly effective means of transmitting daylight into windowless or dull rooms, such as an ensuit bathroom.
Natural daylight is captured at roof level via the tubular skylight and directed down through highly reflective tubes and diffused at ceiling level into the room below. They are available in flat, tile and slate roof options, with a range of accessories available. A passive rooflight ventilation system and a magnetic double glazed ceiling diffuser are included as standard.
How much light does a sun tunnel provide?
By installing a sun tunnel, you will enjoy up to 20 times more light than you would with a 100W bulb.
The graph below compares the light generated in a room from Sterlingbuild sun tunnels and a 100W light bulb:
What is the best place to install a sun tunnel?
The most effective location for a sun tunnel is a south facing sloped roof and/or as high as possible. Ensure it's out of reach of shadows created by other buildings and trees. It should also be installed to give the most direct run from roof to ceiling - making the light particles' journey through the rigid or flexible tube as short as possible.
