If you have a new roofing installation, you may never notice your roof tiles changing colour over time. Roof tiles generally dull slightly with age and have a more natural appearance the longer they are in use.
Old roof tiles are exposed to the elements and as such lose that initial sheen or shiny texture that they had when they were first installed. However, many people actually prefer the roof when it is aged slightly compared to when the tiles were new.
If you are having your roof completely retiled, it's always a good idea to buy a few extra roof tiles so any future broken tiles can be replaced quickly and easily. It's a good idea in this sense to leave a few of these tiles exposed to the elements in the corner of your garden or in some other inconspicuous location, so when the damaged tiles on the roof have been replaced the new tiles won't
