What tools are required to install a roof?

Roofing installation is not a difficult task if you have the right tools. Listed below are some essential tools which will come in handy if you are a budding roofer.

Circular saw

You will need a host of different saws if you are going to install a roof. However, perhaps the circular saw is the most critical for your roofing installation procedure. Circular saws can be used to cut wood quickly to make the joists. A circular saw has an electric motor and is also portable so is perfect to use on a roof.

Nail Gun

A nail gun is an automated nailing device. The device also reloads automatically and can fire nails in quick succession. You can use a nail gun for attaching roofing felt or paper.
Power drill
A power drill can be used to drive screws through different types of roofing materials like roofing felt. Power drills are also available in battery operated models.

Paint roller

Coating is the final installation step when fitting some roof coverings. You will have to use a paint roller to apply liquid coatings. In addition to the above mentioned tools, you will also have to use a utility knife to cut the roofing felt.

If you are unsure about your DIY capabilities you should contact a roofing contractor.
