Ways to keep a clean, well kept roof

Everyone wants a clean secure roof over their head. But, for this there are a few things that have to be done. It is important to carry out regular checks on the roof as this will show you any leaks and other issues that should be tackled.

Carry out roof inspections regularly

Inspecting your roof is not difficult; you can even do it yourself. All you have to do is check for any damaged or slipped roofing tiles. It is mandatory to check your roof at least once every six months. Remember to inspect the gutters as they can also give you trouble. Leaves can block gutters so rainwater will not flow away from the roof.

Ensure good ventilation

This is one of the most important aspects one has to take care of, as poor ventilation causes a lot of decay problems. If you feel the house is extremely cold in the winter or to hot in the summer, you will have to take professional help and get it sorted.

Get rid of any tree debris

People sometimes don't realise that tree branches and other rubbish causes a lot of roofing tiles to be moved out of place. Also, tiles can get scratched and decay because of the debris and leaves that fall on your roof. These need to be moved whenever possible.

You should get your roof treated for any problems like leaks, damaged roofing tiles, moss and other such problems every three to five years.
