To construct a strong roof for your house understanding the way that a roof is constructed is really important. There are numerous roofing materials that are available to use today and can be found easily online. You need to select carefully which roofing material is right for your house.

Tiles

Roof tiles have many overlapping layers and are used to cover the roof. These overlapped layers have a rectangular shape and are laid in rows. You can find roof shingles made of various materials such as wood, slate and concrete.

Thatch

Thatch is used in villages to build a roof with dry vegetation like water reed, sedge, straw and heather. Thatch is used to shed water from the inner roof. It is inexpensive compared to other roofing materials but must be replaced regularly.

Metal roofing

Metal roofing is durable and sturdy and uses metal sheets made of materials such as aluminium, steel and so on. It is a long lasting solution for a strong and sturdy roof if maintained properly. Metal roofing is resistant towards heat and is a safe option.

Asphalt shingles

Asphalt shingles are one of the cheapest roofing materials available and are made of fibreglass. They are frequently used and can be installed easily. Today there are two kinds of asphalt shingles available in the market, organic and fibreglass. Organic shingles are paper saturated to make them waterproof. Fibreglass shingles have a base layer of glass fibre.

Green roofing

This type of roof is a new concept and can partially or entirely cover the roof with vegetation. When you support the environment by growing vegetation over your roof it is called a green roof.
