Supporting Channel 5 and the Cowboy Builders program

JJ Roofing Supplies has been working with Channel 5 for the 9th series of Cowboy Builders and tonights episode in Oldham will be the third that we have worked on this series.

Bushra and Sagid Rashid wanted a simple, single story extension on the side and rear of their house so that they could install a new kitchen and a downstairs toilet to accommodate their growing family. This being a story featured in Cowboy Builders, things didn't go so smoothly and instead of the simple extension that they wanted, they were left with no hot water or heating, a half finished kitchen and an extension that was so unsafe it needed to be completely knocked down.

That would have been bad enough on it's own, but the £16,500 bill that they had already been saddled with severely impinged their ability to get things fixed.

This episode follows Bushra and Sagid's story from a disaster of a house to a home that they can be proud of and that their family would be safe in. Gabriella Blackman was on hand, making sure the problems were resolved and the couple had a house they could call home, and Dominic Littlewood tracked down the builder who left botched building work in his wake, making him accountable for his shoddy work and even shoddier business practices.

Helping out with quality materials

JJ Roofing Supplies and a handful of other suppliers were proud to have the opportunity to give a both the Cowboy Builders team and the Rashid's a helping hand by providing the quality materials that were needed to get the job done.

Two workmen, finish laying the felt onto the roof. The fascia gives the roof a new look.

The fascia and breathable felt have been installed, giving the roof a new look.

The roof on the initial extension wasn't worth mentioning as a way of keeping the rain and weather out of their home and as a specialist roofing materials supplier, this was something that we felt strongly we could help with and give them a roof that would keep out the weather for a generation or more.

A workman installs lead flashing where the roof and wall meet, this stops water entering the bricks or roof edge.

The lead flashing being installed where the bricks meet the roof, this is essential to stop water ingress into the bricks and the roof edge.
