Roofing felt – An important part of home improvement

To protect the roof we should not just rely on tile but instead also use a felt sheet so if the tiles fail we have a back-up. Felt sheeting is an essential product which should be used on every new roof today.

What is a felt sheet?

A felt sheet is a form of insulation that prevents the moisture seeping into the home. The felt sheet is laid out before the tiles are laid down, so that even if the tiles are damaged the water will not leak through the roof.

The felt sheet is a sheet made out of a material which is water resistant. So this sheet protects your home from any sudden leaks caused by heavy rainfall.

You will need to hire a professional when it comes to roofing maintenance and retiling. This will guarantee that the felt sheet and the tiles are fitted correctly. The felt sheets are laid in rows in an overlapping manner. This ensures that the entire roof is covered and protected.

You need to make sure that the felt sheet being used is of the correct measurement and of appropriate thickness. The sheet should be laid perfectly so that your roof is completely sealed and protected. If even a single layer is not properly installed, your home could become exposed to the elements.
