Roof tile materials

Most types of roofing materials will last for a number of years before replacement is necessary. The time they will last for however is largely dependent on what material was used in the first place. Some of the different types of roofing materials available include.

Slate tiles

Slate tiles are perhaps the most aesthetic choice of roofing material. They have been used for hundreds of years and when installed correctly can provide a good degree of protection against inclement weather. Different types of slate tiles are available, with those brought in from the Far East proving extremely cost-effective despite their lack of lifespan compared to products sourced in the UK.

Clay tiles

Another traditional form of roofing is the clay tile. Clay tiles commonly come in standard sizes but sometimes can be decorated with a design or effect. There are a wide range of clay tiles available, some which are interlocking providing effective waterproofing.

Concrete roof tiles

Concrete roof tiles are becoming more popular due their ease of use and enticing price tag. They might not have the aesthetics of clay or slate, but provide a suitable roofing solution.
