Roof Cleaning Equipment – Healthy Roofs at JJ Roofing

Nobody likes to look at a roof that is infested with moss, algae and dry leaves. Roof tiles are the part of your house that suffer maximum exposure to all the harsh elements of nature. They have to sustain the sun, snow, wind or rain no matter how battered they get.

Why is roof tile cleaning so crucial?

You should carry out a few practices to maintain your roof tiles, roof shingles and other parts of the house. Just like yourself, your house has to be kept in a good and clean condition.

What happens to roof tiles over a period of time?

You will find many kinds of roof tiles but they all end up developing mould over time. Mould holds water and it stays on the tiles. This leads them to slowly deteriorate and decay. Special attention is to be given to your roof in the winter for when water turns into ice it can lead to cracks in your roof tiles.

What can be done about it?

Re-roofing is a great option in such cases. However, it can turn into a costly affair. Using pressurised water is a good way of washing away any mould off your roof. This will show you the problem areas and then you can easily replace those roof tiles that are already cracked or decayed.
