Part 1 - In which the new apprentice introduces herself
Hi, my name is Zoe and I am an Apprentice at JJ Roofing Supplies, I am doing a level 2 course in Social media run by Westminster Kingsway College. I am really interested in social media because it is used so much by almost everyone and is such a big influence in everyones lives.
This course is all about knowing the most used, and most appropriate social media channels to use to get the most out of their ability to market the company and let everyone know how great it is.
Since I started I've been updating JJ's social media:
They've put all their efforts in to stop me posting pictures of cats but i'm telling you it's never going to happen!
I've also been helping them design their offers using Adobe Illustrator and Indesign, which are two programmes i had never used before, so i'm getting the hang of those with a lot of help from the boys in the office. I also have some more simple tasks like answering the phones and have even had practical jokes played on me, like being sent down to the shop to ask for a skirting board ladder. As you probably know, it doesn't exist, as a skirting board is a wooden board running along the base of an interior wall, but i didn't unfortunately!
I've really been enjoying myself there's a constant friendly atmosphere and everyone's been really welcoming even when Jamie (HR Manager) took me round all of the branches. I enjoy coming into work every day and am looking forward to the future.
